Family
An actor father, a dancer mother, a singer sister and a puppet-maker brother — creativity was the family business.
Parents
Bill Pullman, his father, is the actor known across generations for Independence Day, Spaceballs and While You Were Sleeping. Tamara Hurwitz, his mother, is a modern dancer and performing artist. Lewis made his feature debut opposite his father in The Ballad of Lefty Brown (2017) — a first credit that could have looked like nepotism and instead played as a genuine collaboration between two working actors.
Siblings
Maesa Pullman, his sister, is a singer-songwriter. Jack Pullman, his brother, is a puppet and mask designer. The three siblings went in three different creative directions — screen, song and craft — which is perhaps the best summary of the household they grew up in.
Background
Pullman grew up in Los Angeles, attended Wildwood School, and then studied social work at Warren Wilson College rather than drama — a reminder that the family's artistic life did not come with a prescribed path into it.
