The Other Career

Music & Devers

A sister act that predates the fame — folk harmonies learned in the family car, now released under their own name.

Outside of acting, Dever is one half of the musical duo Devers with her younger sister Mady. The pair grew up singing together — their father taught them to harmonize, and their mother's car-trip soundtrack (Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill on long Dallas drives) was an early education in raw, direct songwriting. They adopted the name Beulahbelle in 2016, after a family ancestor, and contributed songs to the 2018 film Tully.

From Beulahbelle to Devers

The duo released their debut single, “Raleigh”, in 2020, followed by further singles including “Being You” and “Poison”. In August 2024 they announced they would change the group's name from Beulahbelle to Devers — a simplification that puts the sisters themselves at the centre of the act. Dever plays guitar and sings; Mady plays piano and sings.

Why it matters to the profile

The music is not a celebrity side project bolted onto an acting career; it is the other half of a creative life that started in childhood, in the same household that produced the actress. For fans, it is also the most unguarded version of her: two sisters, harmonising, with no character to hide behind.
